COMMUNITIES IN ACTION FOR PEACE
Presents the
PEACE BUS

CAP is again rolling out their “Peace Bus” during the summer of 2008. Many of these visits are done in collaboration with the Summer Food Services Program of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Office of Community Services. The Peace Bus “crew” will offer fun-filled, educational activities to youngsters participating in the Summer Lunch Program before the arrival of their lunch. The program will be 1 to ½ hours in length.
Here are quotes from evaluations taken at Allegheny County lunch sites visited this summer:
Pace School: The Peace Bus facilitators were excellent.
I can't speak highly enough of them. To be able to come into an
unfamiliar setting, immediately bond with 30 students and then deliver a fun,
informative and meaningful program is remarkable. We would love to have
them back!!
Rolling Woods: The
children learning to get along without realizing it – program was well done and
the children enjoyed the experience.
Worthington Playground: Children
learned to be kind to one another.
