Keynote : Dr. Stephanie Grant
Stephanie Grant is trained as a developmental psychologist and is licensed as a professional counselor. In this keynote, Dr. Grant will explore what regulation is and how it develops in infancy and across the lifespan. Using a brain-based lens, strategies for supporting the development of regulation will be presented for use by all caregivers.
1st Breakout Options
OPTION ONE: Stephanie Grant- a Deeper Dive. In this breakout, Dr. Grant will continue the discussion of her keynote address by providing additional strategies and discussion around regulation development. Participant discussion will be encouraged to allow the material to better apply to the real-life scenarios and needs of attendees.
OPTION TWO: Christine Dillon- TBRI(Trust Based Relational Intervention): putting it to work in our community! This presentation provides information and supports for positive parent child interaction through understanding attachment, balancing structure and nurture, and teaching proactive strategies for nurturing. Participants will receive teaching through a PowerPoint presentation and participate in a Nurture Group with TBRI trainers.
2nd Breakout Options
OPTION ONE: Randall Koch & Deleta Gasco Smith Culture and Perspective: Define and discuss cultural competency and education on aspects of Anishinaabe culture. OPTION TWO: 2nd offering of:Christine Dillon- TBRI(Trust Based Relational Intervention): putting it to work in our community! Plenary: Jenn Lorence- Social Emotional Learning Jenn will introduce social emotional learning competencies and how they can be taught at home to help kids (and parents) to handle BIG Feelings.
